Pseudomonas aeruginosa. What can I say about this bug? It's a common Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium. It lives primarily in water, soil and vegetation. It usually only infects us in the hospital. It makes a really cool biofilm and uses quorum sensing to be a more effective pathogen. It also can acquire quite a bit of antibiotic resistance. You can't have a party with a quorum of your friends. Pseudomonas means ‘false unit’, and aeruginosa refers to the blue-green colour of laboratory cultures of the species. I drew her as the rock star she is.
The graphics were drawn by me, but the book will be printed by my production company.
